Collingwood already offers a wide range of shopping choices from little Mom and Pop shops to large box stores. You can buy high-end furnishings, eclectic or classic art, shoes, imported chocolates, teas from around the world or organic clothing. For those who are more price conscious, and who isn’t really, there are places like Zellers, Wal Mart and the Dollar Stores. Now a new kid is coming to town.
Located in the former Price Chopper location on St Marie Street between 3rd and 4th Street just east of the main street, a new Giant Tiger Store will be opening a new location on Saturday, September 25th. The store promises to offer frequently changing merchandise, free and convenient parking, low prices, and speedy checkouts at the cash. The chain currently has about 195 stores in Canada with the new Collingwood location to be close to 10,500 square feet in size.
“We are all very excited about our new location in Collingwood,” says Andy Gross, President and Chief Operating Officer of Giant Tiger Stores Limited. “Customers in and around Collingwood will find us an affordable and convenient destination for fashion clothing, groceries and everyday basic needs. Giant Tiger is a clean, neat, bright, friendly, and fun place to shop. Our customers say shopping at Giant Tiger is always a treasure hunt! Giant Tiger has what’s new and what’s hot at very affordable prices.”
Whoa, did they say groceries? Gosh, we have Loblaw, Metro, Price Choppers, Sobeys and now, Wal Mart is applying for an expansion to become a grocery store. We must eat a lot.
