Some Blue Mountain Condos Can Be More Than Holiday Homes

MaincWhen people think about buying a condo at Blue Mountain, it’s usually because they are looking for a recreational property.  They may intend to use it for exclusively themselves or they may be looking to renting it out to visitors to offset costs.  What about living there full-time?

While I was measuring a unit in Wintergreen last week, I had the good fortune of running into one of the neighbours and we had an interesting chat.  Like my clients, the neighbours were the original buyers of their unit when it was built about 21 years ago and they used it as a vacation property for many years.  When they retired, they, like so many people, decided they wanted to live in the area full-time.  After considering their options, they decided to move into their condo full time.  It gave them the space they needed, it was recently updated with new exteriors, roofing, windows and doors plus, it gave them the perfect lifestyle at an affordable cost.  What a great idea!

Wintergreen is a 48 unit development which is located right along the first fairway of the Monterra golf course and is directly across the street from the Village at Blue.  Shops and restaurants are a two minute walk away, golf is in the backyard and the view of the ski hills is right out the front door.   There is no need to fight for a parking space at Blue ever again and a complimentary shuttle is available as well.  The site is nicely landscaped with mature trees and, the best part is that there is no snow to shovel or grass to cut as it’s all done for you.  When you think about it, it really does make perfect sense as a full-time home as well as a vacation retreat or investment.view from back

I’ve just listed a 1650 sq ft end unit which features 3 spacious bedrooms, 2.5 baths and excellent living space with vaulted ceilings and fireplace in the entertaining sized living room.  There are private balconies front and back with views over the hills or the golf course depending on your mood that day. The main living areas feature hardwood floors, there is central air, central vac, laundry, ample storage and a full kitchen with a pass-thru to the dining area. As I mentioned earlier, the exteriors have recently been updated and still, the condo fees are super reasonable at just $418.00 per month with taxes of under $2200.00 per year.  At $289,900, this unit is being sold fully furnished and offers such an exceptional opportunity in a superior location.

If you are considering either a vacation retreat or a full-time home in the Collingwood – Blue Mountain area, this is one to see.
